What to Wear - 100% Thrifted

Hello
Here is another week of What to Wear! We are showing off looks that feature looks 100% thrifted! I was pretty excited about this prompt but it ended up being a little harder then I thought it would. Being how cold it is I layer a lot, the problem is many of my layering pieces, tights, long sleeve shirts, etc. I tend to but new just because it's hard to find good ones at thrift shops. But I ended up really liking the outfit I put together.

All pieces are thrifted!

I scored this cardigan the last time I went thrifting and I love it. The only small defect with it is that the cuffs of the sleeves are a little weird.
This spoon necklace is one of my favorites just because it's so odd. I don't wear it as often as I should, but every time I put it on I remember why I like it.
Just like everyone else I am going to talk about the weather. It is freezing! This winter is just dragging on and on. Can it be spring please? I miss yard sale season! I'm just itching for my early Saturday mornings of junk hunting.
Don't forget to check out what everyone else put together, and if you'd like you can link up your own 100% thrifted outfit over on Nicole's blog Gypsy in Jasper. If you'd like to link up next time you can join us on March 20th when we show off our favorite cardigans!
Have a great day!

What to Wear - Pop of Color *Fail*

Hi everyone!
Here we are for another week of What to Wear. I have to say I failed on the Pop of color prompt. When I took these photos I thought this outfit was a much bigger pop but looking back I realized it wasn't, but I didn't have time to take new photos I figured I'd post it anyways!

Sweatshirt - Walmart
Button up - Thrifted
Tank top - Walmart
Jeans - Thrifted -  Behold
Shoes - Marden's - Keds
Bow - Marden's

Even though this isn't the pop of color I thought it was I really like this outfit. I like being able to channel my inner child into a slightly more adult style. Plus I mean the fact that I have a hair bow that matches makes it so much better!
We've been getting a storm every other day it seems, which is causing rather a lot of cabin fever on my part. I seriously cannot wait for spring! I miss having bare legs and a warm breeze. But I guess I'll live. How are all of you holding up this winter?
If you'd like to link up your Pop of Color head over to Nicole's blog Gypsy in Jasper, and make sure to check out what all the other ladies are sporting! And we'll be back on March 6th with What to Wear - 100% Thrifted!
Have a wonderful day!

What to Wear - Valentines

Hello hello!
I finally finally was able to make a What to Wear link up again! I've missed a few of the last ones and I really missed doing them! I missed blogging in general really. The new years had a rocky start and is only just starting to calm down. This week we're showing off Valentines themed outfits.

 Shirt - Thrifted
Skirt - Thrifted - Gap
Sweater - Thrifted
Tights - Label Shopper
Shoes - Thrifted - Jellypop
Hat - Thrifted - Vintage
Necklace - Claire's

Looking back at these photos I realize this outfit didn't really look how I thought it did, but I still like it! None of the close ups I took of the necklace came out so you can't really tell, but it's supposed to look like those little Conversation heart candies. Which I love. In my family they will forever be known as "Conventional hearts" because my aunt talked about them once for about five minutes and kept calling them that, just one of those things that kinda stuck.
I love hats. I've collected vintage hats and worn them for years, but this one might just be my very favorite one. It looks so 1920's flapperish. These photos just don't do it justice! It looks like it may have had a veil on it once, I kind of wish it still did.
If you'd like to link your valentines day look head over to Nicole's Blog Gypsy in Jasper we'd love to see your look! And don't forget to check out the others have put together! We'll be back on the 20th (I hope) with another link up. I don't know what the prompt will be yet because this was out last scheduled one, but we'd love to see you next time!
Have a wonderful day!

What to Wear - Holiday Spirit

Hello!
Here is another week of what to wear, this time we're showing off our holiday spirit. I have to say I thought about putting a white sheet over my head and being the ghost of Christmas past, because you know that would have been corny and great but I tried to be a bit more Christmasy. And then when I realized my lighting in these photos was way off, I decided to over edit them and call it good. And then I got bored and took some liberties with the What to Wear banner, I hope no one minds, and if you want to use it for your own holiday spirit what to wear feel free. I'll probably use it for our next What to Wear Which is on the 26th and is What to Wear - Christmas Dinner, I you'll link up your Christmas dinner outfit with us then!

Sweater, Thrifted, 1$
Jeans, Thrifted ???
Shoes, Marden's, Rocket Dog, 25cents
Pearl and chain necklace, Yard Sale
Red and white necklace, Yard Sale, Vintage, 50cents

I wore this outfit when I was decorating the tree, so I figured it was perfect for Christmas spirit.
I still have yet to get any Christmas shopping done, but I'm hoping to get it all done Monday, when we make the two hour trek to Bangor, which is the closest mall, Kmart, Target, and the like. It's so ridiculous to drive 2 hours just to get to decent shopping. I mean we have to drive half an hour just to get to a Walmart and a grocery store, it honestly sucks being so far removed from civilization.
Don't for get to go to Nicole's blog Gypsy in Jasper to check out the other ladies who are linking up this week, and you can add your own Holiday Spirit look to our link up! If you can't make it this time we'll be at it again on the 26th as I mentioned already, with What to Wear - Christmas Dinner. Hope to see you there!
Well I'm off to go work on a Christmas Milkshake, if it turns out I'll post the recipe soon!
Have a great day!

What to Wear - Well Thrifting

Hi! And happy Thanksgiving to my American readers!
Here goes another round of What to Wear, This week we're showing off what we wear thrifting! I'm an avid thrifter so i was excited to put this together. The old ladies that run the thrift shop I frequent have seen me in an array of outfits. From the blah I've worn this outfit 3 days in a row and I'm to lazy to pick out something else outfits to the over the top crazy outfits. Usually it's the over the top crazy ones I wear, because I always get compliments instead of glares. Thrift shops are the one place people don't look at me like I'm a nutcase, so I tend to dress boldly. Anyways I thought it was only appropriate to wear two of my resent favorite thrifted find.

Sweater, Thrifted, 1$
Jeans, Marden's Wet Seal, 3$
Boots, Thrifted, Hand Made in Canada, 1$
Headband, Family Dollar

This sweater, oh my gosh! I am in love with this thing! I have ALWAYS had a thing for "hideous" sweaters, the first piece of clothing I ever picked out myself at age 2 or 3 was a hideous vintage sweater and since then I've never stopped loving them. I found this one about a month ago and i have already worn it way to many times. It's just perfect.
When i first got these boots I wasn't sure about the, they looked awesome and they fit but they didn't feel very comfortable, then when i was relacing them I noticed that some one had put a really thick weirdly shaped insole in them. Once I took that out they fit perfectly and are so comfy. My favorite part is they actually have tread on them. I find so many winter boots that have slippery flat bottoms with just no grip, which anyone who lives in a snowy place knows you're likely to break your neck if you wear boots like that. And thank you to everyone who has grabbed my BLOG BUTTON. And thank you to everyone who viewed my SURPRISE BALL POST I have been totally shocked at the interest in it! It has gotten over 700 views! Which is a big deal to me since I usually only get 20ish views on a post. So thank you so much to all of you! I am thankful for every single person who views and reads my blog.
Don't forget to check out our link up over on Nicole's blog Gypsy in Jasper. You can add your own thrifting look if you'd like, or if you can't make it this week you can join us next time on December 12th for What to Wear - Holiday Spirit, hope to see you there!
Anyways I'm going to be spending the day at my step grandmothers, and eat way to much. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Have a wonderful day!

What to Wear - Mixing Patterns

Hi everyone
I can't believe it's already time for What to Wear again! This week we are showing off our pattern mixing skills. I personally struggle with mixing patterns, I can mix colors or styles, but patterns I have a lot of trouble with. I always feel like I look like a crazy person, thus why I wore this outfit on a day I didn't go anywhere. But hey practice makes perfect, right? Oh and ignore the bowl and tray in the background. me and my mom have started on Christmas stuff so the living room where I take my photos is pretty well taken over.

Shirt, Marden's, 50 cents
Skirt, Thrifted, 50 cents
Belt, ???
Tights, Walmart, in the Halloween rolebacks, 75 cents
Shoes, Marden's, Mixx Shuz, 6$
Flower, Marden's, ??

The lighting the day I took these was horrible, so you can't really see the pattern on the skirt. It's a little sort of abstract flower pattern.
Our Walmart still has a bunch of Halloween markdowns left and I scored a few pairs of tights for 75 cents. I was a bit hesitant seeing as they were for Halloween  costumes I thought they might not be the best quality, but i was really happy to find that they are exactly the same as any other tight, and they were so cheap! So if anywhere around you still has Halloween stuff marked down  I would highly suggested digging through it a bit, there is actually some great stuff to be found in it!
If you would like to show off your pattern mixing style you can find our link up over on Nicole's blog Gypsy in Jasper. And don't forget to check out all of the other ladies looks! If you can't make it this week we'll be back on the 28th to show of What to Wear Well Thrifting. I hope to see you then!
Have a wonderful day!

What to Wear - Haaallllloowwwwweeeeeennnn costume

Helloooo all my little witches and demons!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
So it's What to Wear time again and we're showing off our Halloween costumes. I love Halloween it is probably my favorite holiday. I love dressing up, I honestly have no plans other then watching silly movies and eating to much junk food. We don't get trick or treaters at our house, but oh well.
I threw this costume together honestly. I had planned to dress up as Wednesday Addams but I didn't take up the dress in time. I wore almost this outfit one day and I got told I looked like a doll so I decided just to go with that and play it up.
So if you have a music box start that up now, because I feel like creepy dolls and music boxes go together.
anyways onto the overly edited photos!

Shirt, Thrifted, 50 cents
Dress, Thrifted, XXI, 25 cents
Shoes, Marden's, Maker's, 10$
Socks, Kmart, 1$
Wig, Marden's, ???

Gotta have a photo of our pumpkins right?

So I basically did an awful job on the make up and decided to over edit the photos, but hey I really like dressing up as a doll, it was fun!
Oh and a side note, I finally fixed my comments so that anyone can comment, because I have had at least 3 people tell me they couldn't comment after it updated itself to Google+, so I finally got around to fixing that. I am a horrible blogger when it comes to fixing stuff like that!
Oh and I tried pumpkin eggnog for the first time yesterday and oh my gosh! It's amazing! It taste like someone put a pumpkin pie in a blender with eggnog, I highly suggest finding some to help you celebrate!
If you want to add your Halloween spirit to the link up head over to Nicole's blog Gypsy in Jasper and add your link, and don't forget to check out all the other ghouls looks!
And if you want to link up next time we'll be back on November 14th for What to Wear: Mixing Patterns!
Oh and can you believe that tomorrow is November? It's crazy!
So what are all of you up to for Halloween?
Have a spooktacular day!

What to Wear- To the Movies

Oh my hello again blogging world!
My last post on here was a What to Wear post so that means its been 2 weeks since I posted on here last!? How on earth did that happen! I've even taken outfit photos but I just haven't gotten around to posting them. It's amazing how time can just slip by, I mean Octobers already half over! This year is just going way to fast.
Well anyways it's What to Wear time again and this time we're showing what we'd wear to the movies.

Shirt, Burlington Coat Factory, Ultra Flirt, 3$ or 4$
Tank top, Burlington Coat Factory,  , 3$
Skirt, Thrifted, Vintage, 50cents??
Shoes, Marden's, Piper & Blue, 2$
Socks, Kmart, 1$
Belt, Thrifted, 50cents
Necklace, Claire's, ??

To be honest I haven't been to the movies in forever. I think the last movie I went to see was The Simpsons Movie with my mom. I've tried to go see movies since then but every time the movie I want is sold out. When the last Harry Potter movie came out and when The Hobbit came out the line stretched at least 2 blocks pretty much the whole time they were in theaters. Which considering the theater is tiny is a sight.
I have to say I do prefer watching movies at home, it's much more comfortable. But I do think this outfit is a good representation of what I might wear.
I am really in love with skirts this season. I've never worn that many skirts despite owning some wonderful ones. But this fall they seem to be what I'm wearing most. I find it easier to layer with a skirt then I do a dress for some reason. I was a bit disappointed with this skirt for one reason and one reason only, it looked like it would be a great twirly skirt and it isn't it hardly moves when I twirl haha, but other then that I love this skirt. I'd like to find a skirt just like this except a bit shorter because I do think it looks a bit schoolmarm-ish, which is why I dressed it up with some edgier pieces. I tried to wear a cardigan with it and I ended up feeling like the teacher on Little House on the Prairie haha.
Anywho that's enough of my rambling. As always don't forget to see what the other ladies wear to the movie over on our link up on Nicole's blog Gypsy in Jasper and don't forget to add you own movie going look to the link up if you want! Or if you'd like to join our little link up next time we'll be back on the 31st, with you guessed it What to Wear -Halloween Costume. And ladies that's our last scheduled prompt we better send some ideas out!
Have a wonderful day everyone!
Lexi
