Hello there my pretties
Well as most of you have probably noticed, today is Friday the 13th! Plus Halloween is sneaking closer. And in honor of that I'm putting together a little list of some great weird and spooky things
Here are two creepy Youtube series, that I just love!
The Haunting of Sunshine Girl is a great not to scary paranormal web series. It follows a girl who makes videos about the ghosts that seem to follow her around. It is kind of a silly series, but it's strangely addictive and it makes you want to keep watching. I'd start at the first season which you can find HERE
Marble Hornets Is a web series that honestly always get's my heart pumping, and probably gets me jumpier then it should. It has to do with the myth of slender man, which I am not a huge fan of, but this did draw me in and make me want to see what happens next. I don't really know how to explain it. I think it's one of those things you have to watch to understand. You can find the introduction HERE and the first entry HERE
I'm not a huge fan of scary movies, but here are some spooky and weird movies I love.
Night of the Living Dead (1968), I have loved this movie since the first time I saw it when I was about 13. I honestly have to say I laugh a lot during it. sure parts of it scare me and make me jump a bit, but mostly I find it wonderfully tacky. Hulu has it and a whole bunch of other great old movies to stream for free! You can find Night of the Living Dead HERE
The House on Haunted Hill (1959), I haven't watched this movie since last Halloween, but I remember loving it an I'm sure I'll watch it again this year! Hule has this movie for free as well, they have the color version HERE but I personally prefer the black and white one which you can find HERE
And Then There Were None (1945), Is probably my all time favorite movie. It isn't really scary, but it's a great mystery, I mean it's based off an Agatha Christie book, how could you go wrong? I couldn't find this on Hulu or anything, but I know I've seen the full movie on Youtube. The movie is in the Public Domain so it shouldn't be hard to find a place to watch it.
Spooky and weird facts:
1. In 1386, a pig in France was executed by public hanging. it was accused of murdering a child.
2. The nursery rhyme "Ring a ring o'roses" supposedly refers to the black plague.
3. A human head can stay conscious for up to 25 seconds after being decapitated.
4. There is supposedly an island off of Italy, that was the sight of wars, a dumping ground for plague victims and an insane asylum. It is considered to be dangerously haunted. So much so that the Italian government does not allow t he public to access it.
5. The head of King Henry IV of France was found preserved in an attic back in 2010.
Okay so this isn't something spook or weird or anything like that. But I found this blog called My Happy Place and she has a bunch of really amazing recipes for fast quick single serving recipes, I am in love with this bownie that you make in the microwave (I made mine with coffee flavored yogurt and it was amazing). You can find all of her posts about single serving recipes HERE
I know that isn't creepy, but I think that well you're watching scary movies or Youtube series these would be awesome to snack on. And they seem like great fall treats. Because you know fall is all about comfort foods.
So anyways I'm off to get some chores and stuff done.
I hope you all survive through this Friday the 13th!
